WHAT IS A MISSIONAL COMMUNITY?
We call our “small groups,” “missional communities,” but you may know them as “gospel communities,” “community groups,” etc.. For clarity’s sake, what distinguishes a community on mission from a small group is that it includes three core elements: a group of people who aim to live like family, serve one another and their community like Jesus, and seek to be on mission together in the everyday stuff of life.
WHY CONNECT WITH A MISSIONAL COMMUNITY
Biblical Community — Christ-centered relationships and fellowship. Rich relationships are the fruit of intentional time spent together. Stories of friendship, encouragement, support, and care all arise as we live alongside each other in authentic relationships.
Gospel Transformation — Real discipleship happens when we lead one another to Jesus in the everyday stuff of life.
Fruitful Mission — In John 13, Jesus explains that one of the most winsome ways to tell the world about Him and that we belong to Him is by the way we, as believers, love one another With missional communities, we are able to uniquely embody the church within the various networks of people in Downtown Augusta and beyond. Our heart is to see every aspect of our city blessed by God’s people: business, arts, education, sports, recreation, and social services.
